Simple Whipped Feta Spread

This Whipped Feta Spread snack upgrades the unexciting cream cheese stuffed celery. This whipped feta filling will bring boring celery to another level, made with feta, cream, olive oil and fresh parsley. It is going to surprise a few!

We all know too well these cream cheese-filled celery snacks. They do the work, but try this Whipped Feta Spread recipe to kick it up a notch! I recently saw a recipe for whipped feta and couldn’t stop thinking about it. I’m such a feta cheese lover! Most recipes for whipped feta are made with yogurt, but this recipe uses olive oil and cream to calm the strong feta taste. It is so simple and usable in many ways: dip, sandwich, etc.

A Fantastic Texture

Whipped Feta Celery

The Whipped Feta Spread isn’t whipped, but the texture is as it was. Add the parsley leaves first when you blend your ingredients into the food processor. You’ll probably need to move the spread a few times to mix it well. The result is salty because of the feta cheese, so added salt is unnecessary. Keep the leftovers for later use, or side dip for more veggies or crackers. I kept my leftover filling in the fridge and used it in a sandwich with simple tomatoes and lettuce the next day, which was fantastic! There are so many things to do with this whipped feta dip!

The Technique

Whipped Feta Celery

I’ve used a standard piping bag, but if you don’t have one, add your spread to a Ziploc plastic bag and make a small hole in its corner to stuff the celery sticks. An excellent old way would work wonders, too, simply using the whipped feta as a dip in a bowl and dipping the celery right in!

Variations

whipped feta spread

The original whipped feta dip contains yogurt, so go ahead if you are into sour fillings. This recipe replaces the plain yogurt with cream to smooth things out. On another note, I did use a touch of garlic powder, but it’s optional and could be replaced by a 1/4 fresh garlic clove. This dip could be easily used as a spread on bagels, toast, sandwiches, crackers and more. Could also be used to decorate and salt a lovely tomato salad or cucumber. The world of possibilities is wide open here!
