Simple Whipped Feta Celery
This Whipped Feta Celery snack is an upgrade of the unexciting cream cheese stuffed celery. This whipped feta filling will bring boring celery to another level, made with feta, cream, olive oil and fresh parsley. Going to surprise a few!
We all know too well these cream cheese-filled celery snacks. They do the work, but try this Whipped Feta Celery recipe to kick it up a notch! I recently saw a recipe for whipped feta and couldn’t stop thinking about it. I’m such a feta cheese lover! Most recipes for whipped feta are made with yogurt, but this recipe uses olive oil and cream. So simple!
A Fantastic Texture
The whipped feta isn’t really whipped, but the texture is as it was. Add the parsley leaves first when you blend your ingredients into the food processor. You’ll probably need to move the spread a few times to mix it well. The result is salty because of the feta cheese, so added salt is unnecessary. Keep the leftovers for later use, or side dip for more veggies or crackers. I kept my leftover filling in the fridge, and it got hard; I used it in a sandwich the next day, which was fantastic! So many things to do with this whipped feta dip!
The Technique
I’ve used a standard piping bag, but if you don’t have one, add your spread to a Ziploc plastic bag and make a small hole in its corner to stuff the celery sticks. An excellent old way would work wonders, too, simply using the whipped feta as a dip in a bowl and dipping the celery right in!
Variations
The original whipped feta dip contains yogurt, so go ahead if you are into sour fillings. Replace the cream with plain yogurt. On another note, I did use a touch of garlic powder, but it’s optional and could be replaced by a 1/4 fresh garlic clove.
