Halloween Charcuterie Board With Melting Cheese Pumpkin
The Halloween Charcuterie Board features an irresistible flaky pastry cheese pumpkin in its center, along with different charcuteries, pumpkin hummus, strawberry jelly, blue tortilla chips, and more. It’s a monstrously delicious board for all!

This Halloween Charcuterie Board offers diverse delights to satisfy every palate. The focal point is the melting cheese enveloped in puff pastry shaped like a pumpkin! At its center is a soft, delicate, little-known Chaume cheese, a delectably soft and kid-friendly French cheese, but it could also be replaced by a more robust brie cheese. Surrounding it cured ham like a prosciutto, Spanish chorizo and salami. The spooky sides are blue tortilla chips, Roquefort cheese, grapes, creamy pumpkin hummus, crackers, strawberry jelly, and mini breadsticks.

The Charcuterie
I picked a mix of cured ham (Prosciutto), Spanish chorizo, and a turkey salami called Llonganisa for my charcuterie board. There are various options available depending on your location. Cured ham is standard everywhere, also called prosciutto in Italian or a Serrano or Iberico ham in Spain. It’s fatty delicious veins will make this board spookier. However, chorizo can vary in spiciness, with Mexican and American versions being spicier due to the unique chilli pepper blend. In Spain, chorizo is dulce or spicy, which is nothing compared to the Mexican version, and is made with pork, wine, garlic, and paprika.
The Cheeses

Creating a Halloween Charcuterie Board requires a standout centrepiece, which, in this case, is the melting cheese pumpkin. Unlike other cheese, this cheesy pumpkin is ideal for kids, made with a lesser-known but delicate-tasting French Chaume cheese. This cheese melts wonderfully without becoming overly liquid. Its buttery, soft texture and orange layer make it perfect for the whole family. Feel free to use Brie, Camembert, or any other cheese you choose if this one isn’t easy to find.
Also, extra sweet paprika and turmeric were added to the egg wash to give the pumpkin puff pastry more colour.
The second cheese on the plate is the famous Roquefort cheese, which is potent and better suits mature palates. There is a bit for every taste. Plus, the look of blue cheese is spot on for Halloween.
The Crackers Choice

The crunch on the plate or vessel to eat the cheese is blue tortilla chips made with Mexican blue corn, regular crackers, and a few neutral mini breadsticks. The blue tortilla chips are going to bring extra spookiness! Its taste isn’t overwhelming, letting all the other ingredients shine.
The Forbidden Fruits
Every board needs fruits, so our tongue needs some sweetness to balance all those other salty ingredients. In this case, red grapes and blueberries to keep the Halloween theme strong. Halloween always need a bloody touch: the strawberry jelly that goes perfectly with both cheeses!

Pumpkin Hummus
The last element on the Halloween Charcuterie Board is roasted pumpkin hummus. You can always buy or make this Pumpkin Hummus from The Mediterranean Dish Blog. I like hummus on a Charcuterie board for vegans, vegetarians, and kids; this way, there is a bit for everyone. Also, it helps to calm things down after so many salty bites.

What an enticing Halloween board. I love how you made that brie en croute. I’m heading to a Halloween party on Saturday and bringing this for sure!
It’s not a Brie, although it could be, it’s called a Chaume and it melt less liquid then Brie and taste softer. A big favorite of kids in France!
I invited some friends for a Halloween party. This board was a big hit. Everyone loved the puffed pumpkin cheese. May keep this recipe for Thanksgiving also.
