Easter Fruit Skewers with Vegan Maple Dip
Bright, rainbow-coloured fruit skewers meet a luscious vegan maple-cashew dip for the perfect Easter party snack! These are a vibrant way to celebrate the holiday without the usual chocolate overload.

These Easter Fruit Skewers with Vegan Maple Dip are the perfect addition to your spring celebration! Colourful, fresh fruit with bunny-shaped pieces threaded onto skewers makes eating fun and festive, while the creamy vegan maple cashew dip adds a sweet, indulgent touch that everyone loves. The kids will have a blast helping you assemble these rainbow skewers; it’s like edible Easter crafts! The dip is made from soaked cashews blended with maple syrup until silky smooth, creating a rich, dairy-free treat. Whether you’re hosting an Easter brunch, packing a spring picnic, or just want a snack option, these fruit skewers are eye-catching and disappear fast.
A Taste of Home: Easter Meets Maple Season

Easter has always held a special place in my heart because it coincides perfectly with maple season back in Canada! This time of year, the eastern part of Canada comes alive with visits to the cabanes à sucre (sugar shacks), which are truly folkloric celebrations filled with live music, dancing, and massive brunches where everything is drenched in maple syrup. The grand finale? Maple toffee poured onto fresh snow and rolled onto popsicle sticks; pure magic! It’s such a joyful way to celebrate Easter and say goodbye to winter, welcoming spring with open arms and full bellies. That’s why I created this vegan maple cashew dip; it’s my little ode to home, bringing those sweet Canadian maple memories to our Easter table no matter where we are in the world.
Why a Cashew-Based Dip?

While many fruit dips rely on heavy cream or yogurt, a from-scratch cashew fruit dip is a total game-changer for Easter brunch. By blending soaked cashews with a touch of maple syrup, you get a silky, decadent texture that is naturally dairy-free and vegan-friendly. Beyond the flavour, cashews provide a healthy boost of plant-based protein and healthy fats, which help keep kids (and adults!) full and satisfied amidst all the holiday treats.
The Best Fruits for Easter Skewers

The beauty of Easter fruit skewers is creating that festive rainbow effect with naturally colourful fruits! Here’s a guide organized by colour to help you build the perfect edible rainbow:
- Red/Pink: Strawberries, raspberries, red grapes, watermelon cubes
- Orange: mandarin slices, cantaloupe, mango chunks, papaya
- Yellow: Pineapple chunks, golden kiwi, yellow melon
- Green: Green grapes, kiwi slices, honeydew melon
- Blue/Purple: Blueberries, blackberries, purple grapes
Choose fruits that are firm enough to thread onto skewers without falling apart, and mix and match colours to create your own edible Easter rainbow!

Make-Ahead & Prep Tips
Busy Easter mornings call for smart prep! You can wash and chop your fruit up to 24 hours in advance; just store the different types in airtight containers. The best part about the vegan cashew dip is that it actually improves with time; as it sits in the fridge, the cashews’ healthy fats settle, making the dip thicker and lusher. I recommend making the dip the night before to achieve that perfect, dip-able “from-scratch” consistency. You can even assemble the skewers ahead of time; simply lay them in a single layer on a tray, cover tightly, and keep them chilled until it’s time for brunch.

Easter Fruit Skewers with Vegan Cashew Maple Dip
Equipment
- skewers , flat-top
Ingredients
Maple Dip
- 250 g raw cashews
- 100 ml maple syrup
- ½ lime or 1/4 lemon
- salt
Fruits
- watermelon
- cantaloup
- blueberry
- green grapes

Instructions
- Soak raw cashews barely covered in hot water for 30 minutes (or overnight in cool water for the smoothest results).
- Add the cashews and water to a high-speed blender with maple syrup, a pinch of salt, and a fresh squeeze of lime. Blend for about 5 minutes until completely smooth and creamy.
- Transfer the dip to a bowl and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes; it will continue to thicken and become more luscious as it sits.
- Use small Easter-themed cookie cutters or playdough cutters to cut shapes out of flat fruits like watermelon, honeydew, kiwi, or pineapple.
- Thread your fun shapes and other colourful fruits onto skewers to create a rainbow effect.
- For a beautiful presentation, add a drizzle of maple syrup and a swirl on top of the dip, or sprinkle with a bit of maple sugar just before serving.
